第８話　「分詞」とはなんぞや？　　より

　分詞構文は話しことばではあまり使われませんが、分詞構文というよりも一種の決まり文句になってしまったものがあり、そいういう表現は話しことばでもよく使われます。

　Strictly speaking,...
　　（厳密に言うと・・・・・）
　Generaly speaking,...
　　（一般的に言って・・・・・）
　Judging from ( what Ned said ),...
　　（<ネッドの言ったこと>から判断して・・・・・）
　Everything considered,...
　Considering everything,...
　　（すべてを考慮すると・・・・・）

　この場合も、これは分詞構文と考えるべきですか、などと深追いはせず、正しく使えるようにするだけでよいのです。
