SOLDIER'S SONG

Answer me please. I want to know
Why is it so that every life must perish in the end?
If these must be a time to go a time for each and every living thing

Then do the oceans die away? And will the mountains pass the same?
What of the thousand winds that blow? And will the summer sky remain?
Tell me. I want to know

Sometimes I think when I'm alone
About the pain and suffering that each of us must bear
Within our lives it finds us all. embracing each and everyone the same

I think about the pain of life The sad refrain of growing old
I think about the sorrow sickness brings And how sad that flesh and bone grow cold
And of me, as I am

Answer me please. I need to know
Why is it so that there must be a predetermined end?
If there's a time that we must go. a time for each and every living thing

Then does the springtime have to die? Will not the seasons still go on?
The way that the summer's warmth will end The way that the winter's snow will come
Will it all. just fade away?

Please tell me this. so I may know
Can I believe. should I believe in what we hold so dear?
This gleam of life. that's gone too fast. this moment's hope that cannot be expressed

As there are people who will come Then there are people who will go
Just as the waning crescent moon Becomes complete again once more
As we live. here and now

Answer me please. I want to know
Why is it so that every thing must perish in the end?
If there must be a time to go. a time for each and every living thing

Then do the oceans die away? And do the mountains pass the same?
And does the springtime also die? And will not the seasons still go by?
And will the world go on and on? Or will even love itself be gone?
And to our hearts never more known. the joy of family and home
Tell me Will it all fade away?

Then do the oceans die away? And do the mountains pass the same?
And does the springtime also die? Will not the seasons still go by?
And will the world go on and on? Or will even love itself be gone?
And to our hearts never more known. the joy of family and home
Tell me Will it all fade away?
